My Journey Into Knife-making

This journey started years ago, leading to the passion it is today.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website!  I know there are a lot of other things you could be spending your time doing right now.  My name is David (I’m in my early 40’s, and still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up).  I live in Georgia with my wife and daughter.  I am a full-time licensed aircraft mechanic, part-time knife maker, and short term missionary when God provides those opportunities for me…(basically that means I take vacation at work and go on a 1-2 week mission trip once or twice a year).  I should add that I also view my everyday life as a gift given to me by God, which allows me the opportunity to care about and invest in people as well.

A promise from all of us to you

I have been married to my wife for over 20 years and we have one daughter who is in college.  At the beginning of covid last year I had some time off of work and my wife suggested that it was probably a good time for me to start making knives.  I am thankful for her support.  She sacrifices a lot of personal time with me so that I can be in the garage building my skills and refining my process for making knives.

A dream and passion collide

I have been saying for years that I want to learn how to make knives.  I have always had a passion for knives, and that passion started to increase as I have learned more about the knife making process…I still have a lot to learn, but I think that’s part of what I like so much about it, there is always something new to explore, with endless possibilities in creativity.  Making handmade knives is something I would like to do full time at some point.  I am taking steps now to help me transition into full time knife making one day down the road. If you see a knife that you like, please feel free to purchase one.  Your purchase will go a long way in helping me move in the direction of full-time knife making.   It would be great to have your support on this journey!  It’s exciting, frustrating at times, and worth it.  I am looking forward to this new season of life, and being able to share the journey with you!
